Thats your old standard noise figure meter and source used for receiver
measurements. Likely using a Sylvania 5722 noise diode. This is 60's
technology.
They can be exceptionally accurate up to around 6M but the circuit
compensation makes them useable for relative measurements only above
that.Still very useful if you cant afford a HP 8970.
Good for BA receivers and even SS if checking mods performance. Also nice
for cutting coax to exact lengths for stubs or phasing lines.
