I have an HP 11729C Carrier Noise Test Set, used to make Phase Noise measurements, and I do not have
the cable used to connect the internal 640MHz SAW oscillator to the 11729C to make frequency
discriminator type measurements. The manual says that the cable is a certain length and has an
attenuation factor.
Can anyone tell me the cable type, length and attenuation of this cable. One end has a BNC
connector and the other has an SMA male. The HP part number is 11729-90096 if that helps.
Below is the text from the Operating / Service Manual fro the HP 11729C
d. The Carrier Noise Test Set has two connectors
on the rear panel labeled 640 MHz OUT and
640 MHz IN. The 640 MHz OUT is connected to the
640 MHz IN to configure the internally generated
640 MHz signal for use during a measurement. A
cable-attenuator assembly (HP 11729-60096 or HP
11729-60098 [Option 140]) is supplied to make this
connection. The length and attenuation of this
cable assembly is critical for the generation of the
640 MHz signal.
Thanks for any information you might have.
