I have a Wandel & Goltermann Level Generator model PS-19.
I know that it has a rechargeable battery for the backup of the settings.
In my unit the batteries show the sign of the age, they keep the
settings not any longer than 24 - 36 hours.
I opened the unit to replace them, but I have been unable to find them !
The unit is built with the customary W&G style, robust as a tank, but
utterly difficult to service, unless you are very, very familiar with it.
And the situation is aggravated by the fact that I have been so far
unable to find a service manual.
Does perhaps somebody know what must be dismantled in the PS-19 to be
able to reach those batteries, to replace them ?

Hi Alberto
Some time after our discussions re PS19 to SPM19 interconnections at the
end of last year I found an SPM19 user manual online and emailed the url to
you.
I don't know whether or not you received that email but if you did there's
some information regarding the batteries on page 6-17 of the manual.
It states that the batteries are accessible by removing two screws that
hold the battery compartment cover in place on the rear panel. This is just
above and to the left of the mains socket.
I can't remember now where I found the manual but if you didn't receive my
previous email I'm happy to set up a download for you.
Unfortunately I still haven't found a pdf copy of the service manual but
the SPM19 schematics remain available for download at .............
