i have been to Weird Stuff many times; when they first opened they were a supermarket-sized store that had so much used electronics for sale you couldn't hardly have enuff time to see everything in a few hours! as time marched on they did downsize (i think they were sold off once or twice) - at this time they are probably about 3000' of customer area - mostly computer-related, but the back area does have a goodly amount of used boards, components and small parts, some test-equipment and related items, etc.
the auction items are locked behind wire-framed areas where customers may view the items but not touch them (so typically items will be in the condition you see them w/out anyone making off w/ knobs, attachments, etc.) - IIRC the items ARE sold as-is, and possibly NOT guaranteed to be good working units. they have been holding these auctions for a long time.
this post is not an endorsement, just a heads-up that Weird Stuff has been around for many, many years, and is a reputable store front, and always worth a visit if in the area. one time i found about 8 unbuilt heathkit AM-FM table top radios that came from the local Goodwill store (they were used for training disabled person in electronics). inventory changes often, and interesting items may be found at times.
i no longer live in the area, and am not able to visit the place like i used to, unfortunately; there are other like-type electronics surplus stores in the area, but they are thinning out (and many going to only computer-related products), TOO BAD! here in northern Nevada we have just about ZERO surplus electronics places - i have more stuff in my garage than exist around here, LOL!
good luck!
