[Test-Equipment] Putting power to 7904 out of storage

Good evening all,

          I'm going to be putting power to a 7904 that's been in
storage for several years.  What precautions should I take..i.e.
should I use a Variac?  With  linear power supply I'm fairly
comfortable, but I'm not sure if bringing up the line voltage slowly
to a switching mode PS will cause more problems than it might prevent.
