[Test-Equipment] Help identifying Old Superior Electric Variac

Dennis,

You might also contact Tech Support at Superior Electric, and provide the
link to the photos. I wouldn't resort to dismantling the unit just yet.
Most enclosed variable transformers that I have seen or owned satisfy my
personal "rule of thumb" of about 100 VA per pound of weight. I'm guessing
that your unit is in the 2 kVA class, and might be capable of 15 amperes or
so. However, I'd try to get the straight info from the manufacturer before
making any such assumptions. Another data point you might note is the
center-to-center distance between the three mounting holes. Compare that
dimension to those in the Superior catalog.

Thanks all for the replies. If there was a model number, I'd have used it.

Thanks for the links to Superior Electric. Maybe some old timer wil
recognize it.

As far as scale is concerned, it's a little over 7 inches across, and
about 8 inches tall, and weighs 22 lbs.

John, if you mean removing the terminal strip and taking a pic...I can
probably do that if that's what you mean.

       Thanks again all,

          Dennis
