In my experience covers are rare. They are the first thing to get 
tossed in the bin -- sadly -- when a scope is bought for a lab. I 
wish scopes were designed with a "storage" location for the cover 
(ie, snap on the back end of the scope) when not in use. There might 
now be more covers if that were the case...
