[Test-Equipment] question

I have used various Kronhite filters in the past. Mostly have been the low-pass, high-pass types. These are great for research applications where you must be confident fo the precise filter parameters. They are low noise and very reliable. You can do a lot of what these do with computer programs and sound interface but not quite as precisely due to gain variations and unknown noise characteristics of the sound cards. Also, in using sound interfaces I have noticed some cross talk between the input and output channels. When dealing with very hgh gain or sensitivity measurements these can be a problem. I have had to use a external sound interface as an input and internal one as output to get around the problem I have found it in every computer I have tried to use in such experiments.

Thanks for asking that. I, too, have a K-H function generator and had
wondered what the K-H filters were typically used for.
