Subject: [Test-Equipment] Identify antique test gear
As others have posted the TS-352 is a multimeter. The
"kit" is an addition that allows voltage measurements to
5KV. I made simple adaptors to use AAA batteries in place of
the original 4.5 volt ones.
I use mine frequently because it has both 1000 volt per
ohm and 20,000 volt per ohm deviders. The 1000 V/Ohm is
useful for much old equipment where the voltage charts were
made with such a meter. While the higher resistance is more
accurate it can be misleading when measuring old equipment.
For instance, the voltages specified for the Hammarlund
SP-600-JX are all made on a low resistance meter except for
the grid voltages which specify a VTVM. The only drawback to
the thing is that its quite heavy.
