[Test-Equipment] HP 140T Analyzer and Storage

You do need storage to look at narrow filters such as less than about 5 KHz
wide. You need to run the sweep very slow at these narrow widths. Without
storage you can still see the response but it will not hold on the screen.
The same is true if you are using a narrow filter width in the analyzer
looking at signals that are very closely spaced. A very slow sweep speed is
required.
There were several different tubes available with different persistence
available in the 140 series. You want a fairly high persistence tube for use
as a spectrum analyzer or it will be hard to see what you are looking at as
the 140/141 series did not have real bright displays compared to modern
scopes.
If you can get the unit at a good price it will still be a fine thing to
have. You will probably use it in the faster sweep modes and wider
bandwidths mostly even if you have storage.
