      This seems to be a common attitude among corporate types. Its 
why many companies have no idea of their own history. For instance, 
Eastman Kodak disposed of all their corporate records and their 
research library. At least these went to universities but many 
companies simply destroyed whatever they had. The reason is simple: 
the historical records cost money to preserve and do not produce any 
revenue. We are lucky to have what we do of -hp- and GR stuff. I 
don't think either company ever thought their equipment would last so 
long or continue to be useful for so long.
