The HP appnotes were a major life saver for test engineers. 
We at Sylvania Microwave Tube lab modeled our set of 
microwave tube app notes after them. I published about 30 
notes (in 1955-59) on the applications of microwave tubes. 
Wish I had a set these also with the set of HP appnotes I 
threw away when I got into the systems business.
