regarding the "Landfill" instruments question:

as far as Agilent is concerned, ANY of the test equipment not
currently in their catalog are members of the Landfill team;
they have been CRUSHING and DESTROYING ALL units such as the
141T SA's (that have been traded in), w/ no regard to the "little
people" such as many of us - this is the Santa Rosa, CA (and possibly
the Colorado facility also) facility. employees caught TOUCHING any of
the units designated for destruction were also murdered and buried w/
the equipment, or at least terminated on the spot.

and the argument that it might cost Agilent a bunch of money to handle
this older equipment is moot, since it could be sold off in a large lot
(in AS-IS condition) to middlemen w/out hardly any cost to Agilent itself.

yet they'd like us to assist them by resurrecting older manuals for
their website so they may appear to be concerned about us, the backbone
of the second-hand market of HP test equipment. but do not ever wait
for the day when Agilent will allow older equipment that they have in
their possession to be put on the market, it ain't going to happen.
easier to destroy, and force some companies to purchase the highly-
priced late model equipment, especially since there is no support for
that older stuff. placing .pdf's of the older manuals on an Agilent
website is a very inexpensive method of appearing like a company that
cares about a customer base that can't afford it's current line of
equipment; they realized the "cult" following out there that exists for
the older HP test equipment once they had been in business for a short
time (and after destroying all the older equipment, manuals, etc. that
they inherited from HP).

phooeey on Agilent.
