Use a digital camera. Best if you put it on manual mode.
The exposure time must be longer then the time it takes to sweep the
beam. Adjust the exposure with the aperture Of course you don't want to
use the flash and it is best if you turn off the room lights so light
does not reflect off the screen. Use a tripod. Later you can use an
image editor like Photoshop to change the image so that it was the
desired colors. Maybe a black trace over gray gridlines with white
background.
I've seen some old film bases camera adpators but I don't see the point
of using film when even a cheap digicam can give good results that you
can see nearly instantly.
