Ahh..the model 80...

It was back in the mid 60s, Burt, K6OQK had just added an FM receiver to his 
AM 2 meter repeater. One of the local teenagers had a license and a scanner 
but couldn't afford a transmitter. He had a job in a little 2-way shop after 
school and daily his buddies would come over. He could get the model 80 on 
the repeater FM  input by full duplex listening to the repeater output on 
his scanner while tuning and by yelling into the side of the model 80 made 
about 3 KHz of deviation. I seem to remember it was the right side. Such a 
good generator...
