In my experience the UPS store is the LAST place you want to take it, unless you are
trying to have the thing destroyed and collect the insurance. Most don't have the
slightest clue.

I wrap big things in about 6" of bubble pack and lo0ts of tape, and put it in a bigger
box with lots of foam peanuts. Either alone does not work.
