Sounds like a sideband test generator. Two tones are used for IM tests. Is
there an adjustment to insert carrier?

I have just purchased a piece of surplus test equipment. It is an
SG-823/urm-144 signal generator. It is in very nice condition and seems to
have some output. It contains 2 audio oscillators that can be mixed. It does
not have RF output unless these are turned on. It is fixed frequency
covering most ham bands. What is this thing and what was it used for?
Manuals, schematics?

Thanks K6KWQ
