Blair: what I did for a test bench was to take two 6 foot Bud racks and 
put a bench-top between them. There is also a smaller (not as deep) shelf 
above the bench surface. All the rack mount gear goes into the racks and 
the other stuff (scope, VTVM's, etc) goes on the top shelf between the 
racks.
