I have an HP 8640B Option 323 (military version) signal generator. As with
many of these units, the nylon bevel gear that links the bandswitch and the
modulation switch has cracked. I'd like to try to replace it with a
commercial equivalent, but I am reluctant to tear the switch apart for fear
of breaking the gear. (Although mine is cracked, it is hanging by a thread
and still works.) Has anybody got an intact gear assembly from a FUBAR
8640B? How about a cracked gear assembly that has all the pieces so I can
sharpen my repair skills before tackling my own or so that I can count the
teeth and measure the pitch with a view toward finding a commercial
replacement?
