But multiplied by a hundred screws (or more) that need to be checked 
in one machine, that's a lot of PIA, with powering-down the machine, 
unscrewing, screwing, powering up, reading.

Holding 2 DMM sticks in one hand while looking at the readout is my 
usual approach, but when it comes to adjusting a pot... forget it!

Someone pointed out that many terminal strip screws are made of brass 
-- shoots holes in my magnetic idea.
