Take a look at both Tektronix < 
http://www.tek.com/products/oscilloscopes/battery_powered.html > and 
Fluke < http://www.fluke.com/ >; they both now have handheld units that 
almost look like fancy overgrown graphing calculators, but should do the 
trick.  Other vendors may also be working into this market...

One (or a family) of Fluke's handheld meters can also be set up as a 
data-logger, monitoring a power line, then download (via InfraRed port 
to a laptop for make a spreadsheet and chart of the data collected.)
