[Test-Equipment] Isolation transformer - Neutral grounding

Just a word of warning - I guess most of the people reading this are in the
US of A, where the neutrals seem to go in for multi-point grounding. Here in
South Africa, and also in UK, the neutrals are only grounded at the
substation transformer. It's a big no-no to let it touch earth anywhere
else.

If I was putting an isolation transformer in my workshop, I would keep the
input 230V free of earth, and ground the chassis and frame to my separate
workshop earth. As regards the output, I have 3 options, floating, grounded
neutral, or balanced to earth. Not sure which is best (or legal!, but
floating is out.

Anyway, my point is check your local regulations!
