Yes, one would, and that's one reason I take exception to BK Manuals's
practices. The company is associated with B&K Test Equipment, LLC, at
www.bktestequipment.com , which is apparently a reincarnation of or
successor to a company called Doutt Electronics, which bought the rights
to service various obsolete B&K models, and sell parts and manuals. BK
Manuals, while the web site looks essentially identical, seems to be a
separate company in a business relationship with the former. They do
list quite a few manuals though, even for some of the pre-merger
Precision Apparatus gear.
DO NOTE that neither of those is actually the present B+K Precision,
which you found at www.bkprecision.com . They do have some obsolete
manuals posted but they're not all that easy to find. Go to
www.bkprecision.com/www/NP_src.asp and enter the model number. Try it
both with and without any letter suffix since I have noted some
glitches, but the manual for another suffix may be very different with
B+K. An available manual or cal procedure will come up as a link below
the unit's description.
Neither the 179 nor 277 is listed. B+K (the real one) may have relaxed
things a bit lately since sometimes a polite and specific inquiry will
yield a PDF by email.
Good luck,
Fred
