Save your money and do a Google search for instructions to use a scope.
Nearly everything you need to know about scope applications are freely
available and anything that you need help for is available here...from
actual scope users. With very few exceptions, there is little that you can
do to damage a scope. Keep the intensity at a reasonable level to view the
trace, and avoid leaving a bright trace on the screen. With a 'triggered
scope' the trace will normally be 'blanked' until a signal 'triggers' the
sweep. Reasonable care will keep your scope in good, calibrated condition.
The training video may help for a few days... but after you view it a few
times, you will probably never view it again... There's NOTHING magic about
oscilloscope applications. Like any other piece of test gear, familiarize
yourself with the user manual and refer to it when you need help. Using the
instrument frequently and learning to properly interpret the waveforms will
teach you much more than a training video.
Let me know when you need help with your scope. I've been using scopes for
more than 50 years... Built my first one from Army surplus parts when I was
12 years old...
