One way to get an idea, of course, is to check the e**Y place, for
_completed_ auctions. Active auctions only show what's being asked, and
may be misleading.

One URM-25D recently (in the last 30 days) closed for $96 after 7 bids,
but three other attempts (and could even be the same one) _starting_
around $100 got _no_ bids.

Likewise, there's a vendor that refurbs URM-26B's that keeps putting the
(same one? same picture) up starting at $120, with no takers. Maybe if
he/she persists, someone will come along and take it.

Bidding on old equipment is always a bit of a crap shoot, but having
some idea going in is often priceless. Also, bidders at these places
like to think they're getting a great deal, so starting low (and with no
"reserve"/minimum) on something that will attract several buyers tends
to whet their appetite for the competition, and the unwary can wind up
bidding much more than sensible, just for the frenzy of trying to beat
the other guy.

Then we come to the notion of shills *sigh*, who will bid up a friend's
auction to stimulate that feeding-frenzy. As always, caveat emptor, but
at least with feedback, the playing field is kept a bit cleaner than
without.

All else aside, RF to the other fellow's antenna is what counts.
