Thank you everyone for all your suggestions. I've purchased 
from a friend, a like-new Pace workstation: it has an iron,
vacuum desolderer, Dremol type rotary tool, vacuum and blow,
DC-out for plating, foot pedal switch and more knobs on it than
my oscilloscope! Very impressive machine.

I also found my propane torch and a hot-air gun. So now,
those soldered joints don't stand a chance. I'll let you
know how I make out.
