I have a 1977 catalogue and it does not show a 7A42. Could you mean a
7A24? If so that is a 350 mhz plug in for use in the 7900 series scopes.

The bandwidth will depend on the main frame bandwidth and the plug in
bandwidth. If the plug in will go to 350 mhz and the mainframe will only
go to 200 mhz then your bandwidth will be limited to 200 mhz. Same if it
was the other way around.

Maybe there is a 7A42 I don't know offhand as the 1977 catalogue is the
only one I can put my hands on at the minute.
