Greetings, thanks for the reply, I have two manuals, - 01171-1, printed
March 1962, serials prefixed 131- , and the other on BAMA which is -
01171-4, 00428-90002 printed Oct 1966, serials prefixed 131- , 601- ,
(there is a circuit change in this one that is not mentioned anywhere, this
should have been in an appendix, also it has extra cal steps.). I have an
older 428B that I gave up on trying to fix (momentarily) and just got a
new one 0995A and wil/may need to cal or fix it, also will be able to
figure out what is wrong in my old one! (certainly not all the new
resistors , caps, tubes, and cleansing agents, and a dab of elbow grease)
And yes "..... maybe this is the manual that should be on the BAMA site".
the more the merrier!!

Dave,
I have a 428B sn 0995A11xxx which has pc boards and have an operating and
service manual which is hp part no 00428-90004 on the inside front cover. It
has an Appendix A which makes the manual also applicable to earlier
instruments. Is this the part number on the manual you have? If not, maybe
this is the manual that should be on the BAMA site.
