Thanks all, you exposed a blind spot (!!)... I never thought of looking in
the makers web site !!  Other difficult searches for manuals have not proved
Google to be very useful despite buckets full of hits, followed by hours of
searching these for something useful.  I guess this one would have been more
successful. The manual slated at the Keithley web site is described as an
"instruction" manual so it may only be an operation manual, though another
Keithley manual for a DMM does have maintenance information in it. My only
problem now is I have forgotten my log-in info so I will have to
re-register. Still I dont mind getting two e-mail shots from Keithley as
they are normally interesting, and I have had some nice free books and CDs.

Thanks again to all who replied.....  great group.... friendly and very
helpful.
