[Test-Equipment] Wanted: HP8640B - alive or dead

Let me try this again; this time providing a little more guidance to folks.
I want to thank the several people who called to my attention the many
variations and flavors of the HP8640B and how un-specific my initial inquiry
was.

I have an almost properly operational HP8640B with a serial number of
2007Axxxx. It is the commercial version. To repair the "known" flaw it has I
need to obtain the A1A1 switch sub-assembly (switch rotor, compression
spring, flat washer, retainer ring) shown in the exploded view of Service
Sheet A in the manual covering serial numbers greater than 1700Axxx or so [I
am not sure just where the change in the switch occurred].

If anyone has that sub-assembly and are willing to part with just that
portion of the total unit I would very much like to hear from them. If
anyone has a dead unit that they are interested in selling AND it has the
component I am looking for I would like to hear from them as well. I can
supply additional information including the drawing and the location of
things if that will assist anyone in determining if their unit has the
component I am looking for.

As an alternative I would consider purchasing a completely functional unit
and then selling the unit I have either "as is" or for parts.

Although I have acquired things via EBAY, it is not my preferred way to find
things. I know that I have items I might be willing to sell but do not want
to bother listing on EBAY and I presume there may be others like me who have
things on the shelf they think they might fix or might use but somehow never
seem to find the time. Periodically someone asks for something on this
reflector and I see that I have it and decide to contact them directly. For
me that is "comfortable" and I suspect I am not alone in feeling this way.

So, if you have read this far and you have an HP8640B that may be surplus to
your real need I should like to hear from you.
