Hi John,

You seem to be following Herr Adolph's line - this is the third time I've seen your line of argument published :-/)

BTW, transformer oil dielectric coefficient is controlled along with flashover Voltage and many other characteristics. How do I know? I used to be a production manager for a firm manufacturing distribution transformers; I saw the tests being carried out and I saw the test results. Transformer manufacturers are concerned with dielectric coefficient because of the capacitance between windings - this is what transfers lightning strikes directly from the transformer primary to your TV set or other expensive whitegoods. Subsequently, in my teaching of communications engineers, I have used some different oils in dummy loads and measured their impedance vs frequency vs power characteristics; transformer oil stands out as the best product to use for this application.

Thanks for your off-base opinion, anyway.
