I recently bought a Hewlett Packard Model 400EL voltmeter on the "e" place.
Although I got the electronics to work within specs, somebody had performed
unauthorized surgery on the panel meter movement. After a frustrating struggle,
I finally determined that it was beyond my capabilities to repair. (The
manual calls for +/- 1% of the reading -- not full scale.)
Has anybody got a panel meter for an HP 400EL or 400FL at a reasonable
price? I'm even willing to give up the linear scale and substitute a regular 400E
or 400F meter.
Alternatively, does anybody need a Model 400EL with a bum panel meter but
good electronics? (By the way, the electronics are a late version with upright
miniature pots and a business machine style power cord.)
