>From the link at the bottom of every test-equipment post:

	"Discussion of the tools of the trade of electronics experimentation,
repair, analysis, design, construction, etc.

		* Spectrum Analyzers, Curve Tracers
		* Tube Testers, Signal Generators
		* Buy, Sell
		* Anything Test Equipment Related"

Apologies if I ruffled any feathers, but I don't think you can make a case
that this is off-topic, under the "Buy, Sell" point above.

If there is a separate FAQ or policy posted elsewhere, I haven't seen it
(and would like to, if you can send me a link). I'd respectfully suggest
that the policy be better publicized before issuing warnings based on it.

It's been interesting to see how many people have disputed that point from
personal experience. The USPS has ALWAYS made a big deal out of the
security in postal (as opposed to third-party) money orders, due to the fact
that mail fraud is a Federal offense. However, there have been numerous
replies now, some in private email to me, suggesting that no, the USPS
doesn't much care unless you bring the culprit's head to them yourself.

So, that's a bit of conventional wisdom that is turning out to be
groundless, or at least obsolete.
