I don't know about the 466 scope, but on the 465, you get an X-Y mode
by setting the horz sweep speed knob max CCW to the X-Y position.
Then the channel 1 input becomes the X input and channel 2 the Y.
The detector output would go to X, and the sawtooth driving the
sweep generator would go to the Y.
