I haven't tried the MFJ-888, but was impressed by the more basic MFJ-886
I tested in Feb. 2002 Monitoring Times magazine.
I think both are manufactured for MFJ by Aceco.
Want more features? Consider the Aceco FC-2002. I tested one for the upcoming
Nov. 2003 issue of MT and liked it. It has a filter which clears the display
until a signal is received so you don't have to watch random readings.
The auto hold feature works well, too. I drove around with it using a 19"
antenna looking for transmitted signals. The counter will beep and freeze
the display when it sees a signal. You can view more
