If those are the Fluke 8840As that were rebranded for the co-op sales 
deal with HP, maybe Fluke could help you.  Might not be cheaper though, 
and it seems to me that the model is out of support.

As for in-house repair, the service manual should give a good account of 
troubleshooting procedure.  I don't recall the Fluke 8840A as being all 
that difficult.
