I agree with the other chap on the Tektronix TM5XX series.
You can get Signal/Function Generators, DMM's, Counters (up to
1 GHz) and scopes (up to 80 MHz.
I have quite a few I picked up at Flea Markets that were easily
repaired. They make an excellent, small footprint test setup.

I have been asked by a friend to see if I can supply the following
items. He is house bound but is getting a real interest in electronics.
He needs
Bench adjustable power supply (UK 230V-50Hz in)
Audio generator/Function generator/frequency counter/bench DDM.
I have a few bids placed on eBay but it is proving troublesome and
protracted so if anyone is selling the above please let me know. He is
looking good quality kit at a reasonable price (an't we all :-)
Thanks again to all who helped out with the cable tagger project I will
post the results of my finding soon.
