I kind of hate to admit it to this list, but I don't yet have
a GPS disciplined standard yet. A couple of my counters have
HP-10544 oscillators, so I need to get busy on getting better calibration
for them. With Motorola Oncore UT boards available for about $36,
I can't say it's too expensive.
For those with good standards the problem will be vagaries of
ionospheric propagation. Those who live in Connecticut may have
an advantage. In my efforts to use WWV at 10MHz, I have found about
1 Hz accuracy to be not too difficult. The FMT format will have
steady carrier for 20 seconds at a time. That will limit how much
variation one can average out.
IIRC, for past FMTs the ARRL hired an outside metrology service
to check their transmit frequency. They should have the capability
for accurate measurements themselves, but may have a backup plan.
Perhaps the web page, when they get it up, will have more information.
