Hello from Spain,
(about title: well, I should call this some way ;-)! )
After my poor experience with the HP spectrum analyzer plug-ins I commented
some days ago (FYI, I did the operation OUT of eBay, following a Newsgroups
message, so I had not fraud protection; my fault!), I have now the chance
to do a refreshing thing which helps me forget that sad thing...
Let's start by the beginning; some months ago I was contacted via e-mail by
a gentleman from France who had several dozens old test equipment manuals
to dispose off. He saw my WEB page and asked me if I wanted them just for
shipping costs with the condition of making the information available to
everybody interested. If seemed to me as a nice idea as I had also several
other manuals which could join that collection.
Yesterday, after some transport delays, I got them here. Roughly 25kg of
manuals. About half of them are in French (Philips, Schlumberger, CRC, ...)
and the others are in English (mostly Tektronix and some Hewlett-Packard).
There are about 85 manuals. I had already about 50-70 more manuals, mostly
Tektronix and HP.
Yes, I know it is not a large collection but, well, it is a good beginning.
Manuals range from Tektronix letter plug-ins to 7000 series mainframes, as
a sample. Some of them are duplicates and I would be interested in SWAPPING
them for other original manuals I don't have (a list will come later)
My idea is to build a WEB page with the manuals list. Then, if somebody
needs an schematic, technical description, service data, ... I can scan or
copy it and send for free (e-mail) or nominal cost. I don't have a copy
shop so offering complete manuals (for the larger ones) is not feasible by
now. I plan to put also in the WEB which parts are already scanned in order
to inform people about what is 'ready to ship'
Please, I would like to get your feedback regarding this Project.
Best regards,
JOSE
