Hello. Thanks for reading this.

I have acquired an AIL type 8012 noise source. It has a multipin connector,
of which 6 pin positions are occupied. I have partially disassembled this
instrument in order to determine the use of each pin. I have found that two
of them go to a filament at one end very long glass tube with a silver
deposit on the other end. This is clearly the noise source.

This is an amplified noise source and one of the pins goes to power the
amplifier. The power return is through the chassis. In addition, one pin
goes to chassis ground and there is a jumper between two pins.

The only "hit" I get doing a Google search is a German site that has one for
sale. It is used with an AIL 81 noise figure test set which is apparently
more common. It plugs into it with an interconnecting cable. The connector
on the picture of the 81 at this site looks much like the one on my unit.

What I need to know is what voltages are required for the filament and the
amplifier. Anyone with an AIL 81 manual could look these up for me.

Pinout of the connector is:

Pin 1 - Amplifier Power
Pin 22 - Jumped to pin 23
Pin 23 - Jumped to pin 22
Pin 24 - Filament
Pin 25 - Filament
Pin 26 - GND

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks, John.
