Many thanks to those who replied to my questions and helped me to set up
this unit. From the variety of replies I received, it was obvious that
there is a difference of opinion regarding the need for heat sinking.
The manufacturer make it very obvoius the the unit REQUIRES heat sinking
in order to meet specs. There may also be a reliability issue.

I was very fortunate to receive a post from Carl Walker who has an
almost identical unit, and he also sent me the Operating Manual in .pdf
format. Carl has kindly consented to share this information, but I don't
believe that this reflector accepts attachments. If anyone wants the
document, please email me directly.

I am currently packaging the Standard along with some BITE monitoring
circuitry and a DC-DC converter.
