Santa had one of these in his sack! Never having used one before, I have
a number of questions about its care and feeding. Can anyone help?
Is there any point in monitoring Lamp Voltage, BITE, or Xtal Voltage, or
are these test points used only for fault indication?
For RF output, is it acceptable to tie Chassis Ground, DC Isolated RF
Return, and 24 Volt Return all together?
If not, what is the preferred connection for these terminals?
Does the 10mhz output need any special treatment (eg. buffering with an
emitter-follower stage) to protect against, say, static discharge
damage?
Since there is such a short warmup time, is it customary to power-down
except when a measurement is to be made, or should the instrument be
left on continously to age?
What about expected lamp life?
The unit runs very warm. Should I package it with heat-sinking to keep
it cool, or is this an ovenized device that should be insulated?
