[Test-Equipment] TEK 7603/7613 osciloscope mainframes

I have both of these mainframes and I noticed when using plug-ins which =
have illuminated switches, they do not work.  After checking the circuit =
diagrams I found that the poer for the incandescent lamps used for these =
switches is derived from pin A#9 (+5V) and pin #A14 (lights return) on =
J1 of the maon interface.  Located behind J1, the left main interface, =
is P10 which actually supplies these voltages to pins 9 and 14.  However =
P10 is NOT connected, which explains why none of the switch lights are =
coming on.

Question:  Is there any reason, why I cannot simply connect +5V from pin =
#A8 of J1 (main ineterface to pin #A9 and pin #A14 simply to ground?
