John,I don't have my O6 manual in front of me but it is highly unlikely that all of your display chip bottoms have failed. Many of the connectors in the O6 can  benefit from reseating, especially, on one like yours which has been in non stop service for decades. First thing is fold down the front panel, I think the procedure is in the manual,  and reseat the connectors going from the display driver board to the display board. This may fix your problem. DO this with the power supply off and disconnected from the O6. WHile you have the FP tilted down, reseat other connectors you can reach and use a little electronics cleaner such as DeOxit or others. You can get DeOxit on Ebay or Amazon and get the D5 formula. If you still have the problem, the display driver board has 2 IC's on them, don't remember their number but they are easy to change if you have good soldering skills and some sort of solder wick, desolder vac pump etc. I have seen someone on ebay trying to get about $60 plus dollars for a driver card. If reseating connectors does not help and you are not good with soldering, that would not be a bad option.
If you take your time and be careful to put the connectors back on exactly as they come off and do them ONE at a time with a little cleaner, you should have your O6 back in operation within an hour...It's not bad but the big thing is getting the connectors back on, pin for pin and you should be fine...Oh, do this under a good work light or outside so you will see what you are doing. It is easy to get those connectors a pin off and then all sorts of nasties can happen.

My beautiful Ten Tec Omni VI plus has performed marvelously for over 25 years and is my favorite radio. Now the lower segments of the digital readout have begun to fail, so I have the following questions:
1. Have any of you experienced this problem with the Omni VI digits ?
2. Did you replace them yourself  ?
3. Are they available from the present owner of Ten Tec service ?
4.Does anyone have a used but known to be working digital readout parts for an Omni VI ?
Please respond with answers if you can.
