[TenTec] 1254 receiver sensitivity

Hi Al,

I think you're correct about meeting at Shelby a few years back. I usually hang out with Larry Wright, N4QY, who is a good friend. Larry usually has a fair amount of boat anchor gear and I do sometimes as well. I didn't go to Shelby the last couple of years since I do not do well with high temps and high humidity any longer. I wish they'd push it out to mid October but I don't see that happening..Hi
Good luck with you 1254.. For the parts count it's a decent receiver.

I guess you know about the mods you can do to install a new display bd for better tuning resolution and dual VFO's. I may install that mod later as well as install an SO232 on the rear panel.

Good AM Herman,
Many thanks for the note. Yes, it is the small kit rcvr that you
suspected. I've got one other thing on the bench now, should get that
off today, and will go "a tapping" at those xfmrs. Hopefully it'll be
an easy fix like you had.
I'll post my findings on the list.
cu at Benson this Sun.?
