[TenTec] Final transistors

I am interested in acquiring final transistors for an Omni D transceiver. Have 
you had experience with choosing and installing substitute transistors for the 
MRF458? What did you use? Did anyone substitute MRF 454 transistors in place of 
the MRF 458 transistors? How did they work?

Has anyone replaced the MRF 458 transistors with the Toshiba 2SC2290 
transistors? What was the result regarding power output and ruggedness compared 
to the MRF 458? I like Toshiba  transistors. I have some in a kilowatt solid 
state amp in my motorcoach.

Does anyone have any to dispose of that will replace the MRF 458? Any matched
