I believe you are right. I understand the important thing is to get the filter in that first IF. I have had a lot of Ten Tec rigs. A 540, 2-544's, <Triton IV> 509 Argonaut, Delta, Argosy. The thing I liked above everything else was the receiver Audio! It was as good as any tube audio... My granddaughter has a Drake TR-3 and the receive audio is so pleasant to the ears.That is my 2cents worth.
