So?  So do a lot of us.  S-Line?  Outstanding construction.  Great looking.
Great to have around.  Fun to own.

If that's the benchmark, it only proves one is not familiar with high
perfomance radios, and perhaps the Orion would seem like something from
alien origin?  It is possible to make an Orion sound like an S-line, but you
really have to totally screw up the transmit audio to do that.  Other than
that, it's virtually impossible to reduce the performance of an Orion or
Orion II to the same level. I've been trying to emulate the amount of filter
blow-by, low even-not-so-close-spaced dynamic range, and other sparkling
characteristics, but the Orion won't work that poorly even if you don't read
the manual first:-)
