[TenTec] Paragon II line level in

Has anyone modified the Paragon II for line level in?  I have this nice 
audio chain going into my IF widened (2.8 Khz Inrad filter) Paragon II. 
  It produces very nice audio.  How about that?  But now I'm fighting 
hum.  I have an attenuator on the far side of the cable going to the 
AUDIO IN on the Paragon and this cable wants to bring hum into my 
audio.   Since I have this very nice line level audio available, it 
would sure make sense to deliver that to the Paragon instead of 
attenuating it a long ways away.

It seems like putting the attenuator inside the Paragon II and having 
it only affect the AUDIO IN RCA jack on the back, not the 4 pin 
microphone connector on the front might work.  That or tap in after the 
first OP AMP.

Has anyone done something like this?
