[TenTec] Ten Tec Omni 546

Regarding the 546 "Omni C".  This was the last incarnation of the original
omni series.  Nothing like the later omni series.  However, in very good to
mint condition, these rigs are wonderfull CW sending and receiving machines
particularly with the optional 500hz filter.  I had two of them and loved
them both, especially with the remote vfo. With the remote vfo, you can have
dual freq. receive! (of course you have to be able to comprehend two
conversations at once).  On SSB, the second one I had always received
excellent audio reports.  I recall several guys on 10m telling me I had HI
FI audio with a shure 444d.  Always a pleasant receive audio.  You do have a
preselector to set for each band but thats the way most were back in the
early 80's.  The output on most were a solid 100w.  Not all the bells and
whistles of the newer rigs or even those from the 90's, but solid
performance and great receivers none the less.  At the new price Carl is
asking, it should be a fair purchase for someone looking for the full set.
